You know sometimes in life when you are just going about your business and you are nudged to do something… and you try to ignore it but just keep getting nudged. Well that’s how this story begins.
I was home sick for a few days (Thank goodness I have a career that allows that option) anyways as I was working I had Good Things Utah playing in the back ground. I heard the ladies talking about a Holiday Mom makeover and instantly I felt like my dad was telling me I needed to enter my mom… I shrugged it off because really who is ever chosen for those type of things. Well the next day they mentioned it again and said the deadline to enter was noon that day… Again I was being nudged, (Um dad.. I don’t know if you know this big guy but we will never get picked… ) Well I sat there working… with my dad I swear standing right there saying “daughter just do this for your mom” So finally I said fine Ill do it (good thing I was home alone. I am sure Kevin would think I was nuts talking to myself Ha Ha!) So I sat there thinking what do I want to write.. and there went my dad again saying he wanted to take care of my mom and us kids and that this needed to be a day about her and a celebration of her and the mom she is… So that’s what I wrote. (I am choosing not to share what I wrote on my blog, something's just need to be kept private and I feel like that was something written by my dad and me just for my mom). Well Guess what I got a call that night from the show and we were finalist… and they would be announcing the winner the next day… HOLY COW dad you were right! Well I think you can guess what happened next we won… YEAH Happy dance…
My mom was a little nervous about having to be on TV, but it was going to be ok she just had to stand there and look cute… Um well that was not the case about 40sec before going live she was told she would be talking… Needless to say she was really nervous but I think she did a great Job!
And of course I forgot my camera… here are some behind the scene shots I snapped with my Phone. This is of my mom with the girls for The Sweetest Thingz salon in Draper…
Mom I hope you had a great time… Dad and I love you so very much!

you did good! she looked great!
That was an amazing story Jamie. I had no idea that your Dad had anything to do with nominating you mom. It makes perfect sense though him wanting your mom to be happy. It's really amazing that he is still making good things happen even thought he is in heaven, his light still shines down here on earth. I know that you have the same qualities your dad has, you are such a loving and generous person! Love and miss you!
Jamie, Vicki looked so relaxed and smiling so bright. I know that Charlie was looking down at her with his infectious smile and saying "Doesn't she look great!!" you did a wonderful thing and Vicki is so lucky to have a daughter like you.
AH!! James your mom looks beautiful! I can't believe it took me so long to see this. So sweet. love it.
